Meet the

Team

Kevin Cleary

Kevin grew up in Western Massachusetts and has had a deep appreciation and love for cannabis since the age of 17. He’s come a long way since having to hide grows deep in the woods.

After attending Champlain College in Burlington and spending some time traveling the world, Kevin went on to build an impressive resumé of indoor and outdoor growing experience throughout Colorado, California, Oregon, and Oklahoma. This included his time at at Verde Natural, the largest indoor living soil facility in Colorado, where he learned how to manage commercial scale living soil systems and climbed the ranks to become the Director of Operations, winning Innovator of the Year in 2017.

Kevin has extensive experience in living soil growing methods. He is certified in Korean Natural Farming (KNF) and JADAM through Master Cho and his son Youngsang Cho; and studied with Dr. Elaine Ingram and Matt Powers with the Soil Food Web Institute. He remains a passionate learner and stays current by attending conferences and networking with other legacy growers.

After moving back to Vermont in 2021, he started Farmhouse Cannabis with his partner Ashley. Together, they practice regenerative farming methods and developed closed loop systems, reducing waste by creating all their own inputs, compost, and biology. The result: clean, highly-organic, natural flower for the community.

Ashley Peluso

Ashley grew up in Rhode Island, but fell in love with Vermont at a young age while spending family vacations in Stowe. A lover of the outdoors, she was intrigued by the beauty, kindness and community of Vermont and vowed to make it her home someday.

Post college, she began her career working at food laboratories in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In 2015, she made her Vermont dream a reality and purchased a farm in Addison County in 2017. Since then, she’s held senior management roles in Food Safety and Regulatory Affairs for both local and international food and beverage companies.

Ashley came to the cannabis world through its medicinal properties. She suffered from inherited chronic migraines and anxiety, and relied on synthetic pills for relief until friends introduced her to the power of cannabis as medicine. After she became a medical cannabis patient, she was able to taper off prescriptions in favor of naturally-grown plant medicine.

It was a synergistic match when she met Kevin in 2021, and together they created Farmhouse Cannabis—where his love of the grow, and her love of the medicine, shine brightly through their products.

Oliver

Oliver was born on 9/24/17 in the sunny state of South Carolina, the runt of 6 pups. As a puppy, he was transported up to Vermont through Passion for Paws, a non-profit adoption agency in Shelburne. He was 4 months old, when Ashley discovered his adorable puppy picture on their website. When she met him, on a snowy February afternoon in 2018, he was outside howling and munching on raw carrots—his favorite treat. Since then, Oliver has traveled with Kevin and Ashley on a 3-month excursion around the country, stopping at 14 national parks along the way. He enjoys long hikes, long car rides, singing, swimming, and being the bestest farm boy ever.
